Justin Lee Brannan

Justin Lee Napoli Brannan (b. October 14, 1978) is an Italian-American artist/musician, social entrepreneur, fundraiser and community activist/organizer from Brooklyn, New York. He is the founding member of Indecision and Most Precious Blood, two well-known New York City hardcore bands.[1][2] Both bands were known for their outspoken commitment to social justice and vegetarianism. Their messages focused on individuality and expressing straight-edge views against drugs, alcohol and promiscuous sex.

Brannan studied journalism and mass media at Fordham University and also attended The College of Staten Island. He has worked for Bear Stearns,[3][4][5] Bank of New York, and Bankers Trust. He has also worked as a commercial announcer for WNEW-FM[6] where he acted as a shop steward for The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists; a Union representing professional actors, dancers, singers, and broadcasters.

He is currently President of the Bay Ridge Democrats, an active Democratic political club based in southwest Brooklyn.[7]

History

Both Indecision and Most Precious Blood have collectively traveled to well over fifty countries across five continents. Indecision was the first American band to play Croatia (Zagreb) after the War of Independence in 1995. Most Precious Blood was the first American hardcore band to ever play in South Africa.

Brannan was a touring punk rock musician before he landed at Bear Stearns[5] working his way up as a clerk in their wealth management division.[8] He later worked as a financier[9] in the venture capital space raising money for start-up alternative energy companies based in Silicon Valley. He now works as a fund-raising consultant for a number of non-profit humanitarian organizations in New York.

In addition, Brannan is a Third Degree Master Freemason, a member of Community Board 10 in Bay Ridge and sits on the Board of Directors of B.R.A.V.O. (Bay Ridge Ambulance Volunteer Organization).

Brannan is a distant cousin of Samuel Brannan and Charles F. Brannan.
